Shalom College Coolock Building Fitout

Seeing a project come to life through the fitout stage is incredibly rewarding, and the new Coolock Building at Shalom College was no exception. There’s nothing more satisfying than watching a large open space develop its own personality and style through custom-made, fit-for-purpose joinery.

Adina Designed Interiors proudly completed the joinery fitout for Shalom College’s Coolock Building — a modern learning environment designed to enhance collaboration, creativity, and individual learning styles.
The project included the manufacture and installation of custom booth seating separated by Knotwood timber-powdercoated aluminium battens, creating intimate enclaves for small group collaboration. Complementary long bench seating with Laminex - laminated bases, upholstered in Warwick fabrics carefully selected to match the school’s colour palette, adds both comfort and cohesion to the space. Matching timber-laminated cabinetry provides open shelving for resource materials, while laminated timber panels elegantly conceal internal block columns, maintaining a seamless aesthetic throughout.
Within the staff quarters, Adina installed 16 workstations featuring laminated benchtops, open overhead shelving, and gables separating each workspace. A compact kitchenette was also fitted, complete with laminated tops and cabinetry, along with a full-length laminated bench along the southern wall providing additional open shelving beneath.
Individual offices were finished with high-quality laminated desks, drawer units, and overhead cupboards, ensuring both functionality and style across all areas of the building. Adina also supplied and installed a variety of Composition, Veriface, Cube and Peel n Stick acoustic Autex panels to the wall adjacent to the staircase and in selected office areas and classroom areas, enhancing both sound control and visual appeal within the learning and working environments.
The result is a cohesive, purpose-driven interior that brings warmth, practicality, and identity to Shalom College’s new Coolock Building. It was a pleasure working with Tony Madden Architects, Murchie Constructions and Shalom College to deliver this fitout.
